【摘要】:DSCanalysismaybeusedwithfluoropolymerstoachieveatleastfourdifferentobjectivesasfollows:4.1.1Tomeasuretransitiontemperaturestoaidintheidentificationofthevariousfluoropolymers,individuallyorinmixtures;4.1.2Tocomparetherelativelevelsofcrystallinecontentoftwoormorespecimensofasampleofafluoropolymerrelativetoanothersamplebymeasuringtheheatoffusion;Note28212;Absolutevaluesofcrystallinecontentcannotbedetermineduntilvaluesforheatsoffusionofthecompletelycrystallinepolymersareavailable.4.1.3TocharacterizePTFE(DSCthermalcurvesdeterminedonpowdersorproductsofPTFEthathaveneverbeenmeltedconveyappreciableinformationaboutdetailsofmorphologyandmolecularstructure);44.1.4Tosupplementthetestforstandardspecificgravity(SSG)describedinSpecificationsD4894andD4895byusingtheheatofcrystallizationofpurePTFEhomopolymer,dependingontherelativemolecularweightofthespecimen.Thescopesofthesespecifications,however,includePTFEresinsmodifiedwithsmallamountsofcomonomers,andmanycommercialPTFEresinsaremodifiedinthismanner.Thesemodificationscanhaveprofoundeffectsoncrystallizationbehavior.Publishedrelationships4betweenheatofcrystallizationandmolecularweightrefertopurePTFEhomopolymersand,therefore,cannotbeappliedtothemodifiedresins.1.1Thistestmethoddefinesconditionsfortheuseofdifferentialscanningcalorimetry(DSC)withfluoropolymers.ItcoverstheuseofDSCanalyseswiththefluoropolymers,PTFE,PVDF,PCTFE,andPVFandtheircopolymersPFA,MFA,FEP,ECTFE,EFEP,VDF/HFP,VDF/TFE/HFP,VDF/CTFE.Thetestmethodisapplicabletotheanalysisofpowdersaswellassamplestakenfromsemi-finishedorfinishedproducts.ThenatureoffluoropolymersissuchthatspecialproceduresareneededforrunningDSCanalysisandinterpretingtheresults.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsasdetailedinIEEE/ASTMSI-10aretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ThereiscurrentlynoISOstandardthatduplicatesthistestmethod.ISO12086-1andISO12086-2coversimilartestingandreferencethistestmethodfortestingconditions.
