【摘要】:ThisclassificationisintendedtoencourageuniformityinreportingpropertiesofMLSandMetalLayergaskets,toprovideacommonlanguageforcommunicationsbetweenproducersandusers,andtoguideengineersanddesignersintheapplicationandconstructionofcommerciallyavailablegaskets.1.1ThisclassificationcoversameansforspecifyingMulti-LayerSteel(MLS)andotherMetalLayerGasketsforTransportationApplicationsbyapplicationandconstruction.Thesestructuresarecomposedofoneormoresteelormetallayersofmaterial,whichmayhavecoatingsorembossments.CommercialmaterialsdesignatedascompositeorenvelopedgasketsareexcludedfromthisclassificationandarecoveredbyClassificationF868andPracticeF336,respectively.1.2Sinceallofthepropertiesthatcontributetogasketperformancearenotincluded,useofthisclassificationasabasisforselectinganMLSorMetalLayergasketislimited.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
